Tic Tie & Calculate could be the reason PDFs take a long time to open.
Hold shift after you open a pdf to disable addons.
or
Try uninstalling Tic Tie & Calculate and then test opening a PDF from engagement or your desktop.
If holding shift works and you want to re-enable the add ins during your session:
Disconnect by closing the rdp session (not a sign out, just a close) then when you reconnect to the RDP session, the Adobe addins will be loaded.
